Building on their own reputation for impeccable interpretation and musical skill, Holly Piccoli, Chris Howlett and Rhodri Clarke combine to form the Melbourne Piano Trio. These three friends combine to bring honest and dynamic performances of the much loved and also the lesser performed trios of the repertoire.
Holly Piccoli is a graduate of the acclaimed Yale University and Australian National Academy of Music. She has an extensive solo and chamber music career in America and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall and toured Japan and Singapore with America’s most prominent Orchestra’s.
Holly spreads her time between Australia and America, keeping an active performance schedule in both. In Australia to perform with Melbourne Piano Trio, Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and has recently performed at Sanguine Estate Music Festival.
Chris Howlett is cellist, producer and director and loves the varied lifestyle that this enables. As a cellist he focus is on chamber music performances with the trio as well as duo performances of the cello Sonata repertoire with close friends.
He performs regularly at a number of Australian festivals and has performed concertos around the world. Chris also is director of Sanguine Estate Music Festival, Music in the Round, 3MBS Marathon and is Chairman of PATMA Music Education and 3MBS Fine Music. He also runs an extensive Production company in China.
Rhodri Clarke has had an amazing career in Europe, graduating from the Royal College of the Arts with First Class Honors. He has recorded on many of the main labels and performed in all the major concert halls of Europe with a highlight working with Bryn Tergel at Carnegie Hall. He also worked with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna State Opera and the Welsh National Opera.
In Australia he is on faculty at the Australian National Academy of Music and maintains a heavy schedule of chamber music
